IX Art Park is a public art space and outdoor mural and sculpture park in downtown Charlottesville, Virginia, operated by the nonprofit Ix Art Park Foundation.[1] The park features the immersive art museum The Looking Glass, hosts the Market Central farmers market, and presents community events including the annual Soul of Cville festival.[2][1]

History

IX Art Park became a nonprofit organization in September 2019 and opened The Looking Glass in January 2020 as a year-round immersive art space.[3] During the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization adjusted operations and programming to remain viable while serving local artists and audiences.[4]

Programs and events

Recurring programs include the Market Central farmers market and the annual Soul of Cville festival, which celebrates artisans and cultural expression in Charlottesville.[2]
