I Gefyra (Greek: Η Γέφυρα, English: The Bridge) is a Greek/Turkish crime television series, based on the 2011 Danish/Swedish crime series The Bridge (Broen/Bron). The series stars Mando Giannikou and Burak Hakkı as a Greek and a Turkish police detective respectively I Gefyra premiered on ANT1+ in Greece on 27 May 2022[3][4],[5][6]

Plot[edit]

The series takes place on the border of Greece and Turkey. Its centerpiece is Kipoi Brigde, on the border between Greece and the Turkey, where a corpse was discovered. The Greek police Detective Sofia Bakali (Mando Giannikou) and the Turkish police Detective Kenan Karaman (Burak Hakkı) working together after a dead body is discovered on the Kipoi bridge, on the border between Greece and Turkey. The case is declared as classified. Very soon they will find out that the case is not so simple because the political powers try to do everything to hide a top secret, as result they will find themselves in mortal danger.[7][8][9]

Production[edit]

The bridge used in the series wasn't filmed at the actual border bridge in Kipoi, but was shot of Kastanies a few kilometers at north from the Turkish border.
