"I Want to Protect You" is a song by American rock band Eels, released as a download single at the Eels store and on the iTunes Store. The song was released on the Eels website on March 3, 2006, and later included on the two-disc compilation Useless Trinkets: B-Sides, Soundtracks, Rarities and Unreleased 1996–2006.

While promoting the album Hombre Lobo, E explained that the lead single "Fresh Blood" is a sequel to "I Want to Protect You": "I wrote a song a few years ago called 'I Want to Protect You' that was about wanting to protect someone from the wolves. Now I am the wolf."[1]
