Iakovos Karatelidis (Greek:Ιάκωβος Καρατελίδης ?-1916) also known as Captain Yakovou was a Pontian Greek guerilla captain during the Pontic Greek genocide. His band of guerillas, numbering in the hundreds operated in the mountains of Topçam in southern Pontos where they saved and protected Pontian Greeks from Kemalist Turkish soldiers and çetes. Captain Yakovou was killed in battle against Turkish soldiers in 1916 after which Anastasios Papadopoulos a young man at the time and a member of Captain Yakovous guerillas became the new captain.[1][2][3]
