Early Life and Education[edit]
Eugene F. Campbell III (born November 1, 1995) is an American professional basketball player and entrepreneur. He is the founder and CEO of the non-profit foundation Walk A Mile N Our Shoes, Inc, the proprietor of the apparel brand dif-fer-nt, and a brand ambassador for brands that share his ideals. His career highs included 57 points and 12 rebounds. Campbell III was born to Eugene F. Campbell Jr. and Kim L. Campbell in Hoboken, New Jersey, USA. Campbell attended six different schools during his education and was challenged not only by the regularity with which his family relocated but also by the circumstances in the areas to which they would go. After entering East Brunswick Tech High School as a Freshman in 2010, he joined the school's basketball team. Even after trying for the Freshman Boys' Basketball Team, he was not selected.
Campbell later studied at a community college, Middlesex County College, and passed with a 3.5 GPA. He completed his Bachelor's and Masters (2020) in Psychology with a 3.7 GPA from New Jersey City University.Campbell III participated in basketball for Middlesex County College, where he was recognized as the NJCAA Region 19's Most Improved Player. He also played college basketball at New Jersey City University (NJCU) and was the 14th man out of 16 players in his senior season.
Career[edit]
As a certified personal trainer, Campbell III taught the sport for a few years after graduating before deciding to pursue a professional career.
He attended multiple pros combined and scored 20 points per game during an overseas pro combine in Miami. He was invited to play in the TBL (The Basketball League).
After that, he received a TBL invitation (The Basketball League). To play with BC Northland in Moldova, Campbell signed a contract. For BC Northland, Eugene Campbell III averaged five steals per game and 39.5 points per game. Twelve rebounds and 57 points were both career highs. Being the first, he was the first American in his club in Portugal. He assisted his team in reaching the semi-finals in only their second year of playing in the first division. Before Eugene's joining, the Portugal team had a 6-6 winning record. After Eugene, they managed 14-5 wins and losses and went closer to the win the championship.
In the fall, Campbell III was with Armenian outfit Gyumri, averaging 21 points throughout 13 games while shooting 96 percent from the free-throw line.
He played in division 1 in the 2022 season for MBA Montijo Basket, and through it got the possibility to play for USA EL Ansar in Tunisia’s top league. Campbell III has also played for the Basketball Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a professional basketball club from Vogošća, Bosnia, and Herzegovina. He has played in three European countries, Moldova, Armenia, and Portugal.
Campbell III is the Founder of a clothing brand named dif-fer-nt.
He is the brand ambassador for GTF apparel and Habits 365 Psi Sigma Phi Spr.19. and signed a contract with the Re Athlete organization, which creates beneficial products to improve the strength of athletes. He has been featured in the All About Sports podcast.
In January 2023, Campbell III moved to Portugal to play with C B Albufeira in 1 Divisao where he helped the club win 9 games in a row and stay in the 1 Division. Now Campbell is the starting point guard for KK Brcko Distrikt in the A1 liga in Bosnia.
Philanthropy[edit]
In April 2021, Campbell III founded a non-profit organization, Walk A Mile N Our Shoes, Inc, a 501c association and local area drive that distributes basic products to people in need globally, such as old basketball gear, clothes, toiletries, water, funding, food, and other basic essentials to people across different communities including several of the European locations where Campbell has played. Walk A Mile N Our Shoes, is Psi Sigma Phi Multicultural Fraternity, Inc.'s official charity drive. The organization has chapters in New York, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Moldova.
