Ian Michael Giatti is an American actor, media personality and author. He is best known for his roles in movies such as 1988's The Great Outdoors and 1985's Girls Just Want To Have Fun. He also was featured in TV shows like 2019's Seal Team and 2001's MTV: Undressed.
Early career[edit]
Since the age of 6[1], Ian has appeared as an actor in several films, TV shows, and commercials. His early roles included appearances on TV's Matt Houston, Hill Street Blues, The Facts of Life, Highway to Heaven, and St. Elsewhere. He also had a recurring role on Falcon Crest.
In 1988, he landed the role of Ben, who was the son of John Candy's character in The Great Outdoors, directed by Howard Deutch. That same year, he starred in the Disney action film The Rescue alongside Kevin Dillon and Marc Price.
Following an eight-year hiatus from acting, Ian resumed his on-camera career with roles on Santa Barbara, Beverly Hills 90210, and a recurring role on TV's Providence.

Journalism career[edit]
Following a medical emergency, Ian began a second career in broadcast journalism at the now-defunct KFWB NEWS 980 in Los Angeles.
He became a digital news producer for KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO and then later for CBS Los Angeles, which was comprised of the duopoly KCBS2 and KCAL9.
Ian became managing editor for CBS Los Angeles and later left the station following the COVID-19 pandemic.
He joined The Christian Post as a reporter in spring 2022.
