Iaroslav Boiko, PhD in Agriculture sciences

Education and scientific activity[edit]

Graduated the National Agricultural University in Kyiv in faculty Agrochemistry and Soil science 2003-2009- worked as research fellow of laboratory at Institute of Agriculture NAU and had been improving soil fertility. 2009 – defended thesis on « Structure of absorbing complex of gray forest soil, its agrochemical properties and productivity of crop rotation levels depending on complex chemical melioration» and got a PhD in Agriculture sciences Carried on a lot of explorations co-working with scientists of University of Nebraska–Lincoln and McGill University (Canada) Author of over the 50 scientific works. From 2012 - an official representative of International Society of Precision Agriculture (ISPA) in Ukraine

Implementation of precision farming in agricultural production[edit]

2009-2013 – had been heading the direction of scientific and technological development of the company Druzhba-Nova, which implemented the elements of precision agriculture for the first time in Ukraine.

In association with international scientists were developed were developed the methods of soil sampling for precision agriculture and interpolation of data to image changes in soil variability.

For the first time in Ukraine, under the guidance of Iaroslav Boiko, there were implemented on the big areas :

  • One of the important elements of precision agriculture modern GPS-monitoring technology of soil fertility, which is based on using automated soil sampling with GPS, measurement the EC of soil with further mapping (zoning) of soil properties on field. It allows take into account the fertility level and yield potential of each heterogeneous zone of field, which conduce the effective use of agrochemicals, seeds and other resources.
  • The algorithm for calculating the system of crop fertilization and formation of map-tasks have been developed.
  • Practically realized technologies of banded and differentiated fertilization, resulting in the effectiveness of use of resources may be reach up to 20-50 % depending on the field properties.
  • In 2014 became a director and co-owner of consulting company AgriLab, which develops and implements complex solutions for increasing the effectiveness of agribusiness. AgriLab – one in top of the most innovative company in Ukraine according to the rating of Forbes edition

Conferences[edit]

Iaroslav Boiko participated in many conferences, during which he presented perspectives of Ukrainian agrarian sector and practical results of technologies implementations to world community.

  • In 2011 was a speaker at 8th European International Conference of Precision Agriculture in Prague (Czech Republic)

Iaroslav Boiko was an expert in Ukraine in such events :
