Ibrayim Yusupov was born on May 5 in 1929 in the village Azat in Chimbay region. People's poet of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan(1975). Hero of Uzbekistan(2004). Graduated from Karakalpak state pedagogical institue(1949) and worked as a teacher at this university(1949-61), in 1961-62 as an editor of the journal "Amudaryo", as a scientific researcher at the institute of history, language and literature named after N.Dovqorayev , head of the sector, chairman of Karakalpakstan Union of writers,chef editor of Soviet Karakalpakstan newspaper,the head of the social centre of enlightenment, culture and spiruality of the republic of Karakalpakstan. His first poems were published in the mid-40s of the 20th century. Wrote more then 30 poetry and prose collections."Qirq qiz"(in cooperation with A Shamuratov,1965),"Aktrisaning iqboli" (1967) "Umirbek laqqi" (1971), "Mangu buloq" dramas,the author of the libretto "Ajiniyoz". "Kun chiqish yoʻlovchisiga", "Qoraqalpoqni koʻp maqtamang koʻzimcha", "Qora tol", "Turnalar" and others are high examples of karakalpak literature. Also, his epics such as "Akatsiya gullagan joyda", "Gilamchi xotin haqida haqiqat", "Dala armonlari", "Mangu buloq" are considered as a greatest achievements of karakalpak literature of 20th century. Buloqlar qaynaydi" (1960), "Oltin qirgʻoq" (1962), "Dala armonlari" (1967), "Choʻl toʻrgʻayi" (1972), "Qora tol" (1988) and others were published in uzbek. I Yusupov translated the works of world classic writers into karakalpak("Mangu Buloq").Laureate of the Karakalpak State Award named after Berdakh(1974).
