Ichon (rapper)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Ichon (real name, Yann-Wilfred Bella Ola; born 11 September 1990) is a French rapper, musician and designer who has collaborated with well-known French hip-hop artists including Hamza and Myth Syzer, as well as several European fashion brands including Valentino, Maison Margiela, J. M. Weston, Pigalle and Antidote Studios.[1][2][3] His first album, "Pour de vrai", was released on September 10, 2020, and following its success, he was featured on the cover of GQ France.[4][5][6]

Ichon's parents immigrated to France from Cameroon.[7] They settled in Montreuil, a Paris suburb, where his parents opened a restaurant and the family lived above.[8] Ichon entered the French musical scene as a member of Bon Gamin, the French rap collective that he co-founded with the rapper Loveni and the composer/producer Myth Syzer.[9] He subsequently released two EPs in 2015 and 2016 which received little notice[4], before releasing a popular mixtape, "Il suffit de le faire", on November 24, 2017.[9][3] His first full-length album, "Pour de vrai", was released in 2020 after a three-year hiatus during which he re-invented his musical style and learned to play piano.[2] Later in 2020, he appeared on Arte TV as part of the Arte Concert Festival.[10]

On September 10, 2021, he re-released "Pour de vrai" with 9 new tracks as "Encore + pour de vrai". Videos of two tracks, "Mélange" and "C'est pas le moment", were released in conjunction with the album.[11][12]
