Ida Eide

Ida Eide (3 April 1988 – 2 September 2018) was a Norwegian cross-country skier who represented the club Øystre Slidre Idrettslag.[1] She was born in Beitostølen.

Career[edit]

Eide did not participate in the World Cup in cross country, but participated in a series of runs in the Scandinavian Cup, with 24th place as the best result. Her best position in NM on ski was 17th place in sprint in 2009. She came in ninth place in the junior class in Norgescup in a race in 2009.

In Norwegian Cup in cross country for junior 2004/05 she came in twelfth place in the class "Girls 16", and in Norgescupen in cross country for junior 2005/06 she came in 19th place in the class "Girls 18 years". She participated in the 19-20 year class in Norgescupen in cross country for junior 2006/07, and ended up in ninth place. The following year she reached 40th place in the same class. She participated in the senior class in Norgescupen in the 2008/09 cross country, where she ended up in 36th place, and in the Norgescupen in cross country 2009/10 she finished 33rd. She ended up in 72nd place in the Norgescupen in cross country 2010/11.[2]

Death[edit]

During a training session at Jessheim on 1 September 2018, Eide collapsed after suffering a heart attack. She was taken to Ullevål Hospital, in Oslo, but died the following day.[3][4]

Personal life[edit]

Ida's sister, Mari Eide, was one year younger than her. She was living with comedian Nils-Ingar Aadne.[5]
