Ignite Coach Ron Mitchell JD, MBA (September 30, 1968) is an American businessman, author, coach, speaker, and entrepreneur. Mitchell is known for his innovative approach to problem-solving as a management consultant. The Team Ignite Experience includes cereal, cartoons, and coloring books to ignite sustainability.  Coaching, coffee, and conversation global clean energy and small business tour. CBD products titled: The Fire Within, consist of a variety of hemp-derived gummies and pain creams for veterans, athletes, and his broader constituents to overcome pain and transform their lives. Diversity and inclusion seminars titled: coaching, cooking and inclusion, ignite her conferences, virtual ESG and sustainability training. Leadership coaching and his book, workbook, television series, and album all titled: No Matter What You’ve Got To Live Your Dreams (published in 2014, 2015, and 2020) His production and seminars are organized through BEM Enterprises LLC.

Early life[edit]

Mitchell was born on September 30, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois. Born to (Elizabeth Mitchell) a single mother. His dad is Fred Jackson Jr, and his parents were never married. He grew up on the Southside of Chicago in the Woodlawn neighborhood and was raised Baptist. He has an elder sister named Pamela, a twin brother named Rodney, and a younger sister named Kimberly. Mitchell attended James Wadsworth School, a public elementary school in Chicago.

Mitchell attended Hyde Park Career Academy and later enrolled in the United States Army Reserves in 1998. He graduated from DePaul University where he majored in political science. He later attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Law on a scholarship and as a Council on Legal Education Opportunity, Inc.(CLEO) Fellow. After graduating with a JD degree in 2002, he returned to Chicago to work at a top law firm and to help transform communities and improve conditions for youth. In 2003, Mitchell received a scholarship to attend Clark Atlanta University to complete his master's in business administration degree with an emphasis in marketing and strategy. During this period, he also took classes at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. Additionally, while pursuing his MBA at CAU he worked as an adjunct professor and adviser to CAU. Mitchell also served on Clark Atlanta University's Board of Trustees and as the Graduate Student Association President for Graduate Students. After receiving his MBA, he founded BEM Enterprises LLC. also known as Team Ignite a leader in coaching, adversity, peak performance, management, leadership, and communication training. Their mission is to build a strong team of professionals committed to leadership, excellence, diversity, inclusion, and belonging, and to ignite the fire within and drive the human spirit. In 2007 he was hired by Booz Allen Hamilton as a management consultant. Here he focused on organizational strategies and change management initiatives to help transform federal government agencies and commercial organizations. In 2009, he became a lecturer at Georgetown University, and in 2010 Mitchell decided to run for U.S. Congress in Virginia’s 8th congressional district but was unsuccessful because he failed to collect enough signatures to force a primary with Jim Moran. In 2012 he was recognized as a Top 100 Minority Business Enterprises in America.

Philanthropy[edit]

In 2008, Mitchell founded the BEM Foundation intended to help transform communities across America through youth, using leadership and technology as a catalyst for change. To inspire youth in 2011 Mitchell launched BEM Foundation’s National Youth Town Hall Tour as part of a 12 city tour across America. The event features a panel of students, administrators, local businesses, community leaders, and corporate America. Students lead the discussion on the significant challenges facing teens, how these challenges can be addressed, and ultimately how communities can support and benefit from teens’ strengths. Topics included bullying and peer pressure, paying for college, using technology responsibly, and health. and wellness. In 2012 Mitchell teamed up with Harvard University’s Psychology professor Ellen J. Langer to test his hypothesis by conducting a study on “power texting: an unconventional mentoring program Mitchell created. The program paired inner-city youth in the Washington, D.C., area with adult mentors who send their mentees motivational text messages on a regular basis —in conjunction with the BEM Foundation

Legal issues and controversies[edit]

In September 2011 Mitchell was charged with making a false statement during his run for State Senate – District 39. He pleaded guilty and was given one-year probation and 100 hours of community service.
