Ikechukwu Emmanuel Mbadiwe (born 6 September 1996), popularly known as Iking Ferry, is a Nigerian multi-award-winning international music producer, artist, and entrepreneur.[1][2] He is the founder of the website Naijatraffic and is recognized as a sponsor and digital promoter within the music industry.[3][4]

Early Life and Education[edit]

Ikechukwu Emmanuel Mbadiwe was born on 6 September 1996 in Ebonyi State, Nigeria.[5] He completed his primary education at Mkpuma Ekwaoku Community Primary School and his secondary education at Union Secondary School Ndiezeoke.[5] After completing his secondary education, Iking Ferry pursued further studies at Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), a renowned science and technology college in Nigeria. He specialized in Music Business and Digital Marketing at the Los Angeles College of Music. Additionally, he studied Banking at the University of Lagos State (UNILAG).[5][6]

Career[edit]

Following his high school graduation, Ferry ventured into the mobile phone engineering business in Lagos state in 2015. However, his passion for music led him to explore songwriting and further pursue a career in the music industry.[7] He decided to enhance his knowledge in the field and enrolled at the Los Angeles College of Music in California, where he focused on music business and online digital marketing. Through extensive research and self-study, he gained expertise in programming and web development.[5]

In 2018, Iking Ferry established "Naijatraffic," one of the largest music streaming stores in Nigeria. Naijatraffic is a media and news company that primarily focuses on the music industry, providing a platform for artists and music enthusiasts to discover and promote Nigerian music.[8] The website has become a prominent destination for music lovers and has played a significant role in showcasing the vibrant Nigerian music scene.[9][10]
