Ilduara Eriz was a magnate from the Iberian Northwest. She was Ero Fernández and Adosinda's daughter and her family's status allowed her to get married with count Gutier Menéndez. Fruit of this marriage were born saint Rudesind, Munio, Fruela, Adosinda, and Hermesinda; all of them were important influencers in tenth century León.

Thanks to her husband, she could increase her patrimony and they made a territorial base of power through whole Galicia where she practiced as domina. This role had economic, social and political functions of landlady and peasants protector. Inside that great heritage, she kept hersefl a considerable part of the family possessions, where she founded a monastery. Also, she was a direct promoter of Rudesind's bussines: She donated an important number of properties to Celanova and she appeared as witness in many documents beside her son. She died in the monastery of Saint Mary of Vilanova (founded by her) in 950 and she was buried in Celanova.

Ilduara was a paradigm of aristocrat woman in Early Medieval Ages. She achieved self-promotion and she played public, executive and administrative authority. That is why this lady represents a power female figure by breaking off gender roles and exerted manly duties.
