Imad Hadar is a Moroccan-Dutch kickboxer, fighting out of Morocco. In 2019 he became the AFC light heavyweight World Champion and in 2020 he successfully defended his title again. In 2017 Hadar was the youngest fighter ever to sign a contract with Glory.
Early life[edit]
Imad Hadar, born and raised in Rotterdam in the Netherlands, began practicing kickboxing at the age of twelve. His parents are Moroccan migrants. Hadar has both Dutch and Moroccan nationality.
In the ring he is fighting out of Morocco.
Career[edit]
Hadar fought his first pro fights for various organizations before being the youngest ever fighter to sign a contract with Glory in 2017.
Hadar fought his first fight for Glory on March 29, 2017. His opponent was the experienced Freddy Kemayo. Hadar started the first round strong, but slipped on the second round and fell on his back, breaking his rib. He went down after a few body punches and lost the fight.
Hereafter, Hadar fought on September 30 in the four-man tournament at Glory 45: Amsterdam. His opponent in the semi-final was the American Manny Mancha. He knocked down the American twice in the first round and also dominated the second round. Unfortunately he broke his hand after a punch on his opponent and couldn't continue the fight.
After the painful loss, Hadar decided to get rhythm with another organization. He became the AFC Light Heavyweight World Champion in 2019, after he knocked out Serbian Jovan Zeljkovic in the first round. After this he successfully defended his title twice more.
