ImageAssist
ImageAssist, Inc. (commonly known as ImageAssist) is an American healthcare technology company that develops software for standardized clinical photography. The company is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, and was founded in 2024 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center by pediatric plastic surgeon Michael Golinko.[1]
ImageAssist provides a HIPAA-compliant mobile and web platform designed to support clinical photography workflows across medical specialties, including plastic and reconstructive surgery, dermatology, wound care, emergency medicine, and primary care. The platform enables clinicians to capture, organize, and securely store patient images at the point of care while integrating with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.[2]
The core ImageAssist application is a smartphone-based clinical photography system that implements and automates photographic standards published by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Plastic Surgery Foundation.[3] The software includes features such as guided image capture, standardized framing, and background removal to support consistent before-and-after clinical documentation.
ImageAssist has been used in academic medical center settings and has been evaluated in peer-reviewed literature for its role in improving efficiency and standardization in clinical photography workflows.
