The Imam el-Houari Mosque (Arabic: مسجد الإمام الهواري) , also called Mosque of Bey Mohamed Othman El-Kebir (Arabic: مسجد محمد الباي عثمان الكبير), is a historic mosque in Oran named in honor of the city's patron saint Sidi El Houari. It was built in 1799, as attested by an incomplete inscription,[1] on the orders of the Bey Mohammed Ben Othmane. It is built in the heart of the historic Oranese district of Sidi El-Houari.
