InCharge is a provider of electric vehicle charging points across the UK and Europe. It is owned by Swedish energy company Vattenfall and provides charging units for home, business and public usage. Formed in 2016, InCharge now operates more than 14,500 charging points across Europe. These have started to appear across the UK in locations such as Canterbury, South Norfolk and London.[1][2]
History
In 2018 InCharge was launched in the UK[3], with the first units installed all using an open access, pay-as-you-go system.
In 2018 InCharge partnered with Volvo to launch InCharge Smart Home.[4]
In 2019, Vattenfall and BMM Energy Solutions installed 12 InCharge electric vehicle stations in multiple public car parks and street bays in the Canterbury area in the UK. The power supplied to the sockets is to be ‘sourced’ from its British wind farms, including projects off the Kent coast.[5]
