Inbal Megiddo

Inbal Megiddo is a cellist based in Wellington, New Zealand. She studied with Aldo Parisot at Yale University. Among her other teachers were Mstislav Rostropovich, Uzi Wiesel, and Shmuel Magen. She has performed as soloist with many orchestras around the world, and on stages at venues such as the Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and the Berlin Philharmonie, among others. She has collaborated with conductors including Daniel Barenboim, Roman Koffman, Lior Shambadal, Harry Ellis Dickson, and David Stern. Her playing was described as "deeply moving" (Dominion Post), "pairs intensity with an awareness of stylistic distinctions", (Washington Post) and "masterful"(New York Concert Review). Megiddo is the Head of Cello at the New Zealand School of Music, and has also taught and given classes at Oberlin Conservatory, Vienna University of Art, and Yale School of Music; at the Melbourne Festival, Asia Cello Congress, and many others. She recorded all 40 of David Popper's Etudes, along with video tutorials for iClassical Academy. Among her recordings are Bach's 6 Suites (Atoll, Naxos), the Schumann Cello Concerto, and the Beethoven Cello Sonata. (Rattle Records)
