Indian School al Maabela (ISAM[2]) is an Indian school located in South Al Maabilah, Muscat, Oman.[6] The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education of India.[7] It provides education from KG-1 up to 12th Grade, covering 15 grade levels.[1]
History
The school was established on 17 April 2010[2] with approximately 506 students from Kindergarten to Grade 5.[8]
It initially operated from the premises of Indian School Al Seeb[9] before moving to its own campus following the inauguration of the new school building on 3 November 2010.[9]
By April 2013, the school had over 1,300 students enrolled.[9] Almost five years later, in April 2018, the strength of the school rose to 3,500 students.[7] and as of March 2026, the enrollment is approximately 4,500.[1]
Campus Expansion
The school has expanded its campus on three occasions.
The D-Block expansion (2016–2017) enabled the addition and equipping of senior secondary classrooms.
In late 2023, the Kindergarten Block was extended from the B-Block to accommodate growing enrollment in early years education.
The E-Block was inaugurated on 11 January 2025 by Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Indian Schools Oman. The block was designated to house pre-primary classes beginning in the 2025–2026 academic year.
