Indian Social Responsibility Network (ISRN) is a not-for-profit multi-dimensional facilitation network in the domain of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)[2] and sustainable development in India.
It was founded in 2014[3] with a philosophy of ‘Relationship building, beyond funding’[4] and a vision to facilitate the effective channelization of efforts, skills, resources and outreach of the corporate, Voluntary Organizations (VOs)[5] and the Government, to contribute to the overall development of Indian society.
Major Initiatives
It has developed a concept of "Uttam School" which aims to improve existing infrastructure by installing advance teaching devices such as Smart class, digital library, purified drinking water with zero waste water technology from RO, 24*7 electric supplies through solar power plant and separate clean and hygienic toilets for boys and girls.
It has also improved the healthcare conditions of the underserved community living in urban areas through Mobile Health Unit (MHU), a mini-van that serves the patients at their doorsteps free of cost. Multi-speciality health camps facilitate specialized doctors that treat the patients including children, pregnant women/lactating mother and senior citizens. Free medicines are also provided to them.
Striving to make the Non-Government Organizations more effective so as to speed up the development of the nation, ISRN has organized more than 15 training programs across the nation since inception that aimed at disseminating knowledge to the NGO personnel on various management skills related to the organization and the projects. Since 2014, their Capacity Building Programs have been attended by around 2500 participants. Some of these programs were held in collaboration with bodies like NABARD, KVIC, BIRD, PHDCCI, etc.
Projects
Uttam School
In order to address the issues of quality learning in schools and thereby improving the quality of education to produce future skilled workforce in India, the concept of “Uttam School” was developed by ISRN. It is not just the infrastructure for learning, but better environment and conditions for children and teachers that ensures improved learning among students in schools.
Mobile Health Unit-MHU
The MHU provides basic health checkup, medicine based on investigation, counseling and referrals to the critical cases. The MHU itself is equipped to perform 17 different test of patients. Apart from the above, the project is focusing on educating and creating awareness among the community about preventive and curative health measures, and the various government health policies/ schemes available for better and affordable treatment, apart from organizing health camps focused on providing specialized health services.
Reaching the Unreached- Antyodaya
Under the Study titled: "Documentation and Compilation of Antyodaya Based Best Practices as Propounded by Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay", ISRN is working to Document and Highlight all such stories at the national level, about organizations/ individuals who are silently engaged in uplifting the deprived section of the society.
