The Indie Fest is an organisation that sells vanity awards to people working on films.[1] The festival's awards are given to film professionals selected by a panel of judges who are also film professionals.[2] While the festival is based in La Jolla, San Diego, California, United States,[3] the event takes place virtually.[4]
In 2008, documentary film The Singing Revolution was screened at the festival four times.[5] Kumar Mangat Pathak's Boond was named Best of Show in 2009.[6] In 2010, short film Marino's won an award at the festival,[7] Life! Camera Action... directed by Rohit Gupta won an award for the best feature film,[8] and Ishqiya starring Vidya Balan was also screened at the festival that year.[9] The 2011 festival gave documentary film Farmageddon: The Unseen War on American Family Farms an award[10] and gave Marc Saez's Suivez la flèche two awards. Other winners include the horror film Game of Assassins[11] and dramatic feature The Escort about the sex work industry from award-winning filmmaker Bizhan Tong. [12]
