Indrajit Sabharwal is an Indian and Emirati businessman best known as the founder of Simmtronics, for his marketing of the xPad tablet, and for his involvement in the subsequent fraud and embezzlement scandal resulting from his role with Simmtronics. [1]. [2] Sabharwal emerged as an entrepreneur in the computer module memory field in the late-1980's, formally founding Simmtronics in 1992 [3] In 2010, Sabharwal directed Simmtronics to enter the electronic tablet business, and by 2012 Simmtronics xPad was the third most popular tablet in the world in terms of numbers sold. [4] Around 2013, Sabharwal began to primarily live in Dubai, and following fraud investigations by the government of India, permanently moved to Dubai to avoid extradition. In February of 2021, Sabharwal acquired Emirati citizenship and continues to live in Dubai.
