Infordata, a leading technology company based in Peru, has been at the forefront of providing innovative solutions to businesses and end users for over 3 decades. Established with a commitment to delivering cutting-edge technologies, Infordata has earned a reputation for its exceptional services and a diverse range of products tailored to meet the evolving needs of its clients.[1]

This national company began its operations in 1988 in its premises on Arenales Avenue with Pablo in its Bermúdez, its first activity would be teaching computer repair courses. This activity was a success for the company, since it was the first in the country to teach computer repair courses. Later the students would become INFORDATA's first clients; who recommended the institution, among their acquaintances, to repair and then sell computers. This would begin a commitment to customer service, which they maintain to this day. INFORDATA grew thanks to the recommendations of its clients, in this way they reach ONGs; For example, the ANC, which worked directly with various NGOs, acquired 40 computers for a program they were developing; this was one of the main clients at the beginning of the company.

In 2015, America Sistemas, a media outlet specialized in disseminating the developments in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Peru, published a memoir called "TIC's" for different companies, including Infordata.

Surviving the Crisis[edit]

During its first years, the market was still developing and on many occasions they had to compete against smuggling, at a time when informality was rampant. The sale of computers was oriented towards the end user and the MyPES, the problem was that they did not offer other accessories, only computers; The company was directly affected by a legislative change in Peruvian law, this law levied a tax on the assembly of computers, which was on the verge of bankrupting it. Thanks to good planning INFORDATA survives and becomes stronger, it had to compete against the informals, who did not pay the IGV, some companies that wanted to interpret the law in their own way had to pay large fines; until the law on computer equipment was repealed, along with the tax.

In their first years they built computers without a brand, later they would adopt the name ISA (INFORDATA SA) which would later be called VASTER, but when they had problems registering the brand in Indecopi, they chose to use the name VASTEC. In the first years, getting the parts to build computers was very difficult, despite the informality that dominated the market, some national brands knew how to earn their space, such as AIWA FARADAY, MICROCHIP, among others. One of the biggest problems that the company had to face was trying to survive in an economically complicated time for the country; the formal line of credit was scarce, which caused many companies to close shortly after being founded. Added to these concerns was the constant search for knowledge, obtaining technical information from various sources, at a time when information was not at our fingertips as it is now thanks to the Internet.

Intel and other Important Allies[edit]

To assemble the VASTEC computers, (the product with which it is most identified) INFORDATA has INTEL as a technological ally, since the brand arrived in Peru, it supported INFORDATA with technical training. INTEL representatives gave technical talks at INFORDATA approximately four times a year, while INFORDATA executives visited INTEL plants around the world, such as Brazil, Costa Rica, Ireland and even in Silicon Valley. The knowledge was transmitted quickly, which would result in several professionals trained at INFORDATA going on to work in other large Peruvian IT companies. INTEL would also help structure the work, then would come their collaboration in setting up the assembly plant, formalizing their relationship. Over time, international brands and local wholesalers have imbued INFORDATA and its products with a unique spirit. The secret of the company's success can be summarized in the balance between its collaborators, while international brands offer training at the sales and technical level; Wholesalers have the stock, competition between the latter causes prices to balance. The direct relationship with international brands, such as INTEL, NVIDIA, MICROSOFT and KINGSTON, allows INFORDATA to offer a range of products and solutions that are unique in the market. Another of the company's attractions is that they have an experienced team, some of their workers have already been working with them for nearly 30 years, this experience is recognized by INFORDATA, which offers them training and greater responsibility in the same company, with the opportunity to make decisions. Some have received technical training in Brazil, Argentina, Costa Rica, Mexico, etc. The passion for the world of bits, which it has maintained since its beginnings, has made INFORDATA write its own history in Peruvian computing.
