The Information Technology Society of Sri Lanka (ITSSL) is a professional body in the field of Computing and Information Technology in Sri Lanka. It was established in 2019.

The ITSSL was established in 2019 in Sri Lanka for the purpose of educating people about Information Communication Technology and to take initiatives in matters pertaining to recent developments in Sri Lanka with interests attached to field of Information Technology.[1]

There are four categories of membership to the Society.

  • Members
  • Associate Members
  • Student Members

Objectives of the Society[edit]

The Objectives of the ITSSL are as follows: 1. The primary objectives of the society are: To be a partner in policy making related to Information Technology matters in Sri Lanka.[2] 2. To act as a recognized organization to the subject of Information Technology in the Sri Lanka.[3] 3. To Develop a mechanism to inform the public and the government about the potential threats and risks in Information Technology field, including the government and private sector in Sri Lanka.[4]


The ITSSL Council[edit]

The ITSSL is governed by an Executive Council elected out of members.

The last AGM was held on 16 June 2019 at the Shangri la Hotel Colombo. The new Executive Council that was elected consists of the following Members.

President - Mr. Rajeev Yasiru Kuruwitage Mathew, Vice President - Mr. Isuru Chamara, Secretary - Mr. Yasas Dissanayake, Treasurer - Ms. Upeksha Sandeepani, Council Member - Mr. Maheeshwara kirindigoda,


Projects organized by the ITSSL[edit]

The ITSSL organizes regular events for the benefit of the Information Technology community of Sri Lanka, and key among them are the following projects
