Ingeborg Dönitz

Ingeborg Dönitz (10 December 1893 - 2 May 1962) was the last wife of the President of the Third Reich from 1 May 1945 - 23 May 1945. She was born Ingeborg Weber in Berlin, Germany. Her parents were Erich Weber and Bertha Weber. She had two siblings Fritz Weber and Olga Weber. She was a nurse during the First World War were she worked at a hospital in Istanbul. She traveled to Istanbul along side her father whom was a general in the German army. While working as a nurse she met her husband Karl Dönitz of whom she married in 1916. Together they had three children Klaus Dönitz, Peter Dönitz and Ursula Dönitz. Following the deaths of Adolf Hitler and Eva Bruan on 30 April 1945, Karl Dönitz became the President of the German Reich which made Ingeborg Dönitz the wife of the President of the Reich.
