Ingram Washington

Ingram Washington was born in 1940 in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up in Detroit, where he practiced his singing by listening to jazz from the age of 10 years or so. His musical inspirations were the likes of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Billy Eckstine and such. Of particular interest were old ballads and mellow tones of singers like Nat King Cole, Al Hibbler, and Joe Williams. He admires most for his deep baritone voice, Arthur Prysock.
Ingram has performed in clubs and concerts all over the world, including Austria, Australia, U.S.A., France, Germany, Norway, New Zealand, Switzerland, The Netherlands and Belgium. He has worked with other artists such as Nina Simone, Ray Charles, Scott Hamilton, Teddy Edwards, Spanky Wilson, Harry "Sweets" Edison, Cees Slinger, John Marshall, and Rob Agerbeek.
