Inheritance (database types)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Inheritance for database types uses the generalization/specialization approach to distinguish between subtypes and supertypes. A discriminator is used for the distinction. Database modelling approaches such as Entity Relationship Models and the corresponding Entity Relationship diagrams have specific notation to show supertype-subtype relationships.
