Ink and Needle (Latin: Atramentum et Acus, often abbreviated IN) is a secret society for seniors at Yale University.
History
Ink and Needle is a secret society for seniors at Yale University.[1][2] As a Yale secret society, Ink and Needle participates in the tap process, in which they select sixteen juniors to join the incoming delegation of the society in April.[1]
Ink and Needle meets Thursdays and Sundays, with Sundays focusing on the biography or "bio." Bios focus on one member of the society in an evening dedicated to hearing their life story and aspirations. Like many other societies at Yale, Ink and Needle has a prominent social element and fundraising and networking events for current members and alumni throughout the year.
Notable members
Ink and Needle is known for selecting for athletic, artistic, and social excellence. Its current members include John Poulakidas and Mason Shipp.
