Inner Me is the third studio album by Vietnamese Singer-songwriter Vũ Cát Tường (VCT), released on November 30, 2019 – over 1 year after the release of her second album – Stardom. This is the first bilingual album of VCT, reminds listeners about the old Vũ Cát Tường in the past, and discover her deeper inside feelings through melodies. The album was recorded at one of the most famous studios in the world – United Recordings Studio in Hollywood, California.[1]
The album has one lead single – "Có Người" (Someone), this is one of the biggest hits by VCT. Alongside, she also did a concert named "Inner Me"[2], took place at Ho Chi Minh City, and sold out all 5,000 tickets. After the success of the album and concert, Vũ Cát Tường appeared on International Artists' page of Billboard America.[3]
Release context
In June 2019, Vũ Cát Tường's fans guessed that she would have a new project after VCT's photos on a trip in USA. And then, at Dear Hanoi Concert – the first show of VCT Tour 2019, Vũ Cát Tường finally said that at the end of the year (2019), she would have a new studio album, produced in Hollywood, and VCT gave the audiences attended her concert a digital demo of Dõi Theo – a track in the album.
On November 6, 2019, the album's lead single "Có Người" (Someone) released on YouTube and streaming platforms, after released, the MV came on top 3 trending videos on YouTube Vietnam. And before the album was out, Vũ Cát Tường released the live version of "Dõi Theo" recorded and filmed at United Recorings Studio.
On November 30, 2019, VCT had a sneak show and launch press conference for the album, and at 08:30 PM (GMT+7), the album was out on all streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer, etc.
Physical Version
Before the digital album released, VCT announced about pre-ordering the physical version of Inner Me album. The tracks' data was in an elegant crystal-clear USB, and included a photobook, with photos and songs' lyrics.[4] The physical version was sold out in just 1 week.
Promotion shows
2 weeks after the album released, the Inner Me concert – in VCT Tour 2019 took place in Ho Chi Minh city, this is the first concert in Vietnam applied the Infinity LED Stage. Vũ Cát Tường performed 21 songs, include 8 new songs in the album.[5]
