Establishment[edit]
In 2015, Ridwan M.Hilmi, the Co-founder of IBM went to East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) for a business trip. During his stay, he found the gap between NTT’s people's quality of life and people in Java. It inspired him to create a change. Later in 2016, Ridwan and his colleague established Insan Bumi Mandiri, a philanthropic organization to empower people in remote areas of Indonesia with a focus on education, health, and economic empowerment.

Area served[edit]
Although IBM opens to help all people in Indonesia, its projects mainly focus on East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), South Sumatera, and other remote areas of Indonesia.
Campaigns[edit]
Boat for Teachers[edit]
The Boat for Teachers campaign was the very first campaign of IBM in 2016. Pura Island, one of the small islands in Alor Regency, has 8 elementary schools and 2 junior high schools. The high school students in the area have to go to another island to go to school. Unfortunately, there is no road that connects the islands. Therefore, school boats are highly needed.
The campaign focused on Pura Island and its surroundings to have a boat that will take the teachers and the students to go to school. IBM successfully collected about $30,000 and turned it into two boats for teachers and one for students. Then, these boats were delivered to MIS Darussalam, Timuabang Hamlet, Pura Island, and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
Help Aidil’s Face Surgery[edit]
Aidil, a 10 years old boy who lives in Desa Napal Licin, Dist, South Sumatra was born with a face cleft. As a result, many senses on his face are not working, one of them is his vision impairment. Sadly, his parents couldn’t afford the surgery but at the same time they also really wanted Aidil to be able to do facial surgery.
The campaign to help Aidil was launched in October 2019. With the fund collected through the campaign, he is now healthy and can go to school, just like other boys his age. Furthermore, IBM keeps supporting AIdil to maintain his condition by providing nutritious meals. With people's kindness, Aidil’s life has positively changed a lot.
Provide Clean Water for Kampung Tureng, NTT[edit]
In Kampung Tureng, NTT, people have to travel 2 hours to get access to clean water. They have been living like this for over 40 years. To provide clean water and channel it directly to the home of Kampung Tureng Residents, IBM started the campaign in March 2022.
In September 2022, IBM installed a water pump and pipes that streamed clean water to the residential areas. However, the effort to provide clean water for the people of Tureng is not over yet. They still need more water pumps and pipes so that the water can flow further. The people also hope that the process will go smoothly until it is finished. Ana Sees with One Eye Because of Skin Cancer[edit]
Ana, a 9 years old girl, had been fighting skin cancer for over 2 years. At first, red spots appeared all over Ana’s body, which was diagnosed as a normal sunlight allergy. Little by little, lump after lump grew, even appearing in Ana’s right eye until her eye had to be removed. Sadly, her parents did not have enough savings for her treatment. To help Ana undergo skin cancer treatment, IBM launched a campaign for her in January 2022 and the donation target has increased to allow her to continue the treatment and fulfill her daily needs.
IBM’s Campaigns are divided into several categories, including health, community development, gifts and appreciation, mosque establishment, education, kurban, and disaster response. For more information, visit https://insanbumimandiri.org/
