Kim In-seong (Korean: 김인성; born July 12, 1993), better known as Inseong, is a South Korean singer and actor under FNC Entertainment agency. He is the oldest member of the South Korean boy group SF9 and the main vocalist of the group. Apart from his group's activities, Inseong debuted as a musical actor in The Days (2021) and participated in Red Book (2021) and Jack the Ripper (2021).

Personal life, education, and military service

Kim Inseong was born on July 12, 1993 in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, South Korea. He earned his bachelor's degree by graduating from Kyunghee University, majoring in Communication Science (journalism), and pursued his master's degree at Kyunghee Cyber University, majoring in Hotel Tourism. Inseong is known as one of the K-pop idols who scored high on the TOEIC exam, with a total score of 935[1], ranking third after 2PM's Ok Taecyeon and DAY6's Young K.[citation needed] Inseong is left-handed and an only child.

Health

While carrying out his schedule in mid-2019, FNC Entertainment released a statement on August 7, 2019, that Inseong unexpectedly sustained an injury in which his sternum was fractured.[citation needed] He felt pain and immediately went to the hospital, where he underwent a thorough examination. The doctor advised him that he needed to rest for the next three to four weeks, and would be unable to participate in SF9’s concert "UNIXERSE" on August 10, 2019, “Idol Star Athletics Championships” filming on August 12, and the KCON LA performance on August 17, 2019.

Music Career

Inseong became a trainee at a Korean entertainment company called FNC Entertainment and joined FNC's planned group, which first performed in Japan on December 11, 2015. The group consisted of 11 members at that time. In May 2016, Inseong participated as "NEOZ Dance" in FNC Entertainment's survival show d.o.b (Dance or Band), competing against NEOZ Band (later known as Honeyst). They later won the show with their first song "K.O.", which was later featured in the Feeling Sensation single album. They were renamed SF9 (Sensational Feeling 9) in August and debuted on October 5, 2016.

Acting Career

Before his debut in 2013, he starred in a short film from his university called "편지를 찾습니다" as Ju-ho. Later, in 2016, FNC Entertainment produced a webdrama called "Click Your Heart" starring SF9 members, including himself, and AOA members, which aired on Naver TV.

After debuting with SF9 in 2016, Inseong made his first appearance in a TV drama as Kim Ji-Seok's younger self in 20th Century Boy and Girl (2017), produced by MBC.

In 2020, he began his journey as one of the main characters, Ha Deok-ho, in a web drama Dok Gobin is Updating, alongside his bandmate, Hwiyoung. During the same year, Inseong made his musical debut in the musical The Days as Kang Mu-young. The show ran for four months, from November 13, 2020, until March 7, 2021.

In 2021, he continued his musical career by starring in Red Book as Brown, which ran from June 8, 2021, until August 25, 2021.

Not long after Red Book, Inseong starred in another musical, Jack The Ripper, as Daniel, and the show ran from December 3, 2021, until February 5, 2022.

In 2022, he returned to appear in a web drama called Two Different Woojoo as the main character, Woojoo, which appeared on TVING, Watcha, and seezn.
