Sam Asghari (born on March 23, 1994) is an Iranian-American personal trainer, actor, and model. He came to the spotlight after dating and getting engaged to the American singer and actress Britney Spears.
Early life and education[edit]
Sam was born as Hesham Asghari on March 3, 1994, in Tehran, Iran. He is the youngest child of an American father, Mike Asghari, and an Iranian mother, Fatima Asghari. He is the only brother of three sisters. In 2006, his family migrated to the United States.[1] While studying at Westlake high school, California, he participated in the school's football team and also acted on stage at the school’s drama program.[2][3][4]
Career[edit]
In 2013, at the age of 19, Asghari signed up for the 'Smart Nutrition course' at Gold's Gym to learn about nutrition, anatomy, and personal training. Then he worked as a personal trainer till 2015. He now manages the Asghari Fitness, launched on January 30, 2020, that offers customized training programs and nutrition plans.[3]
Asghari's debut performance as a model was in the Toyota Prius commercial in 2016. He also starred as a construction worker in Fifth Harmony's "Work from Home" music video. He then found an opportunity to appear alongside Britney Spears in the Slumber Party music video.[5][3]
In 2019, Asghari made his film debut with the American film, "Can You Keep a Secret?". The same year, he appeared in a television series, NCIS. In 2020, he played a small role in another American movie, "Unbelievable!!!!!". He also appeared in the TV series, "The Family Business" (2020) in the episode, 'Heat it Up!'. In 2021, he appeared in the TV series, "Hacks" and the American film "Black Friday".[4]
Personal life[edit]
In 2016, Asghari started dating the 13 years older American singer Britney Spears whom he met on the set of her music video "Slumber Party". They both posted mutual photos and videos on Instagram and were seen together on different shows and outdoor places. The couple made their red carpet debut at the premiere of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood in July 2019. Both participated together in the 2019 Daytime Beauty Awards.[6][7] In 2021, Asghari publicly supported Spears during her court battle to have her father, Jamie Spears, removed as her conservator.[8][9] Both got engaged on September 12, 2021, announcing officially through Instagram.[1][5][10][11]
Asghari and Spears are now preparing for a wedding.[12][13]
