The Institute of Veterinary Medicine, (Mongolian: Мал Эмнэлгийн Хүрээлэн), is a veterinary research institute under the Mongolian university of life science in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. It has research facilities and capabilities for research on various infectious diseases, parasite diseases, and non-infectious diseases of animals. Research work of the institute focused on diagnostics of disease, development of vaccines against infectious diseases, and development of treatment and preventive measures for various animal diseases. The institute of veterinary medicine is one of the four public agricultural institutions in operation[1].
Introduction
The Institute of Veterinary Medicine was established as a branch of Research Institute of Animal Husbandry in 1961, and became an independent research Institute of Veterinary and Medicine in 1987. So far, in total 5 meritorious veterinarians of Mongolia, 2 meritorious scientists of Mongolia, 11 State prize laureates, 4 members of Mongolian Academy of Sciences, 1 member of Euro-Asian International Academy of Sciences, 4 members of Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and 9 owners of Scientific discoveries have been born from our Institute. The institute has a Scientific Council, consisting of 24 members to develop research policy of the Institute and research projects conducted by research staff. As a leading veterinary scientific organization in Mongolia, the IVM is nationally recognized for its excellent activities in development of novel veterinary drugs and advanced technologies of diagnostics and preventive methods against various animal and zoonotic diseases[2].

Tasks
- To enhance better animal and public health condition by developing new technology of diagnostics and control methods.
- To contribute to the increased highly contagious disease-free status of the country, coordinating interdisciplinary approaches to the zoonotic and multiple host diseases.
- To lead environmental disease problem and traditional medicine in nation-wide, regional or international contexts.
