Intacture is a data centre facility built within the active San Romedio mine (in the Non Valley), operated by Tassullo (mining company). This is the first ever data centre built in an active mine[1]. The project has been implemented by the private-public company Trentino Data Mine in collaboration with TERA, mining ecosystem company controlled by Tassullo.[2]

The effort is presented as a sustainable alternative to the most common data centre solutions because (1) it does not consume land, (2) it requires less energy and water to run, due to the insulation and cool constant temperature provided by the rock.

As ethnographic research has shown, the project has attracted concern and caused conflict between the local population and administrations.[3]
