Intelli Holdings Inc., trading as Intelli, is an African AI-powered customer engagement software-as-a-service company. Its platform consolidates business communication across WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, email and website chat, combining automated AI responses with the option of human-agent handoff for complex requests.[1][2]

The company was founded in 2024 by Kenyan entrepreneur Sila Kironji and other co-founders, and is led by Kironji as chief executive officer.[1][2] Intelli is a portfolio company of the MEST Africa incubator and received pre-seed investment of US$100,000 in 2024.[3][4] The parent entity, Intelli Holdings Inc., is incorporated in the State of Delaware, United States; the operational office is in Nairobi, Kenya.[5]

History

Founding and MEST Africa pre-seed (2024)

Intelli Holdings was founded in 2024.[1] The same year, the company was selected as one of three startups to receive pre-seed investment from MEST Africa at the conclusion of MEST's 2024 Entrepreneurs-in-Training (EIT) programme, alongside Worklyn and Pikelo.[3] MEST Africa later confirmed in its annual review that each of the three startups received US$100,000.[4] The MEST EIT programme is a fully funded twelve-month accelerator that selects participants from over 1,000 applicants and offers training in software development, business and communications.[3]

MEST Africa has invested in over 90 startups and trained more than 1,000 entrepreneurs since its founding in 2013 by Jorn Lyseggen, the chief executive of media intelligence company Meltwater.[3]

Scale Velocity Lab (2026)

In May 2026, Intelli was selected into the inaugural cohort of Scale Velocity Lab, a four-week go-to-market accelerator launched on 4 May 2026 by Clarus, founded by managing partner Victor Ekwealor, in partnership with Norrsken East Africa.[2] The programme selected twelve traction-stage startups from Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda, focused on helping companies transition from early traction into scalable businesses operating across fragmented African markets.[2]

The Next Africa described Intelli at the time of selection as "an artificial intelligence-powered customer engagement platform consolidating communication across WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and websites," and said the company was "targeting businesses increasingly under pressure to digitise customer service operations while maintaining responsiveness across multiple communication channels."[2]

Recognition

In May 2026, We Are Tech Africa profiled co-founder and chief executive Sila Kironji in its "Tech Stars" series, highlighting Intelli's hybrid AI–human customer support model.[1]

Leadership

Sila Kironji is the co-founder and chief executive officer of Intelli. He holds aeronautical engineering degrees from the Kenya Aeronautical College and Shenyang Aerospace University in China. Before founding Intelli, he worked at Skymax Aviation in 2019 and at Kenya Flying Labs from 2020 to 2023, initially as a drone development engineer and later as chief technology officer. In 2023 he also co-founded Hotspot Aerial Solutions, an aerial-data company. He is a member of the OpenAI Community Forum.[1]

Products

Intelli operates a unified dashboard combining several modules:[1][3][5]

Intelli is delivered as a unified multi-channel customer engagement platform that combines a shared team inbox, a no-code AI chatbot builder, and a campaign-broadcast tool. The platform is built on Meta's WhatsApp Cloud API — for which Intelli is a Meta-registered Tech Provider — with additional channel support for Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Facebook, email and website chat.[5][1]

The platform's three core modules are:

  • AI WhatsApp Assistant — a no-code AI chatbot deployed on the WhatsApp Business API and used for customer inquiries, lead qualification, appointment booking and FAQ automation. The assistant is built with a visual flow builder and is designed to escalate complex queries to human agents in a shared inbox.[1][6]
  • WhatsApp Business API access — including API keys, an embedded sign-up flow, message-template management, REST APIs, webhooks and a shared team inbox, aimed at developer teams and agencies integrating WhatsApp into their own products.[7]
  • WhatsApp Broadcasts — a tool for sending high-volume template-based WhatsApp messages, including marketing campaigns, utility notifications and authentication codes, to opted-in audiences with segmentation, scheduling and delivery analytics.[8]

Intelli is offered on tiered self-service subscriptions and a custom enterprise plan; platform fees are billed separately from the per-message charges that Meta sets for outbound WhatsApp template messages.[9]

Operations

Intelli Holdings Inc. is incorporated in Wilmington, Delaware, United States, and maintains its operational office in Nairobi, Kenya.[5] The company is a Meta-registered Tech Provider on the WhatsApp Business Platform, providing customers with access to the WhatsApp Cloud API through its own dashboard, APIs and Embedded Signup integration.[5]
