InterContinental Music Awards
The Los Angeles-based InterContinental Music Awards was established in 2013. Initially founded by Shahed Mohseni Zonoozi as the InterContinental Music Concert Series in 2011 to support musicians on a global scale, the annual awards emerged from this series of events.[1][2]
On 23 August 2026, the 14th Annual InterContinental Music Awards (ICMA) event was held in Los Angeles. For more than a decade, ICMA has recognized music talent from a diverse range of continents and regions worldwide. Music entries are evaluated by a panel of judges who are active industry professionals and Hollywood music executives including Grammy and Emmy-winning artists.[3][4][5][6]
The InterContinental Music Awards organization has received recognition for its activities from several sources. The California State Senate granted a Certificate of Recognition to the InterContinental Music Awards in May 2025. Presented by Senator Caroline Menjivar, the Certificate noted that “the ICMA is a globally recognized platform that celebrates and honors outstanding musical talent from around the world. With participants from over 68 countries, ICMA fosters cross-cultural appreciation and nurtures a global community of artists.”[7]
In addition, the InterContinental Music Awards was granted a Certificate of Recognition from the California State Legislature, 46th Assembly District, Los Angeles on 21 February 2025. The certificate, which was presented by Assembly member Jesse Gabriel, recognizes the ICMA for its “dedication to promoting peace, unity, and cultural diversity through music on an international scale.” The InterContinental Music Awards was also granted a Certificate of Recognition by the City of Los Angeles on 1 July 2023. The certificate, presented by Council member Bob Blumenfield, recognizes the ICMA as an “internationally acclaimed platform that celebrates and acknowledges exceptional music talent from around the world”.[8][9]
Due to the global spread of ICMA entrants, the annual award ceremony is held online. In 2025, the ICMAs won an award at the 46th Annual Telly Awards for its use of livestream on a global scale.[10][11]
Winners of the 14th Annual InterContinental Music Awards 2026 were announced on 23 August 2026.[12]
