International Bingo Day
The International Bingo Day is celebrated on February 23rd, the day of the passing of the creator of "Bingo", Edwin S. Lowe[1]. Lowe was born in 1910 and was known for being a US salesperson, game entrepreneur, toy maker and real estate developer.
A game called "Beano" at the time, Lowe renamed "Bingo" and made it popular among schools and churches, creating excitement around fundraisers and other activities where large groups of people would join in anticipation to hear their numbers called.[2]
Bingo is a popular game, especially known as Bingo (U.S.) or Bingo (U.K.). The American version is a five by five grid, whereas the UK version is played on a 15-number ticket on three lines.
Bingo started as a social game played offline in actual Bingo rooms. Nowadays, Online Bingo became a very popular social game played online on desktop and mobile. Originally Bingo was played with beans. Each person receives a number of Bingo Cards and daubs called numbers which appear on one of his cards.
