International Design Seminar

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

INDESEM (International Design Seminar) is a student-led week-long event that is hosted approximately every two years, mostly at the Faculty of Architecture at TU Delft. Students as well as professionals (architects, artists, academia) from all over the world come together to work on and discuss an architecture related topic during workshops, lectures and design competitions. The first edition was organised by students with the help of professor Jaap Bakema in 1964.[1]

History[edit]

After two editions in 1964 and 1967, INDESEM was re-initiated in 1985 by Herman Hertzberger as a goodbye to when Aldo van Eyck retired from being a professor at TU Delft.[2][3][4] Ever since, it has been held annually or biannually, always by a different group of students. The most recent edition was called DATASCAPE and discussed the role of big data in architecture. It was held in 2021 in Delft. [5][6]
