Internet Society Foundation

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Internet Society Foundation was founded in 2017[1] as an independent 501(c)(3) organization, as an offshoot of the Internet Society with the stated aim of "championing ideas and enabling communities to unlock the Internet's potential to tackle the world’s evolving challenges".[2]

Their work supports projects that bring Internet access to unconnected communities, develop digital skills and support disaster relief efforts with Internet connectivity. They award grants to Internet Society Chapters as well as non-profit organizations and individuals.[3]

Funding for the Foundation's work comes from the Public Interest Registry.[1][4]
