Internet of Elephants (social enterprise)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Internet of Elephants is a social venture based in Kenya and the United States. Composed of educators, strategy experts, game designers, conservationists, and technology professionals, the group creates games employing real-wildlife data. It aims to engage global internet audience and gamers with wildlife using a blend of social media, GPS hardware, data, and games. The major objective is to produce a robust connection between people and animals; a connection that could sway consumer behavior affecting how people view wildlife and prod them to contribute to conservation initiatives.[1]

The game[edit]

During play, the app allows users to know more about various species of wildlife all over the world. It  allows them to choose which animal/s they want and what type of real-world environments they want to position these creatures. The users then follow the animal/s around. Users also get to know more about the animal/s they have chosen through a reference guide entrenched in the app. In playing the game, users “interact” with the selected animal/s and walk around the physical world based on the traveling paths of the chosen creature/s.[2]

Founder[edit]

Gautam Shah founded the Internet of Elephants and merged technological advances with current trends in online entertainment. Preceding the establishment of IoE, Gautam spent 20 years accomplishing IT projects for Accenture across India, Argentina, Kenya, and the US. He lives with his wife in Nairobi, Kenya and spends his free time with elephants and gibbons, playing tennis, ice hockey, and piano.[3]
