Diplomatic formal relations between Pakistan and Ireland were established on the 18th of April in 1962,[1] President General Ayub Khan visited Ireland on the 16th of July in 1964. Pakistan opened its Ambassador-level resident Mission in Dublin in February 2001. Earlier, Ireland was accredited to Pakistan's Embassy in Paris, France. Ireland 's Embassy in Ankara is concurrently accredited to Pakistan, Ireland also has an Honorary Consulate in Karachi. Pakistan and Ireland enjoy cordial bilateral relations. In order to institutionalize bilateral interaction, Bilateral Political Consultations are undertaken between senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.
