Irene Padavic is the Claude and Mildred Pepper Distinguished Professor of Sociology at Florida State University.

Padavic received her A.B. from Smith College (Sociology and Religion) in 1979 and her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Michigan in 1987

Work[edit]

Padavic joined the Department of Sociology at Florida State University in 1987 and has spent her career there investigating how inequalities based on gender, race, and sexuality are reproduced and undermined, with a particular focus on the workplace.<ref>
