Irving Russell Bush 2
Irving Russell Bush has been associated with nearly every phase of music. He has played with numerous name jazz bands, dance bands, studio, TV, and recording bands and orchestras and was, for several years, Nat “King” Cole’s personal first trumpet player. Mr. Bush has been on the music staff at the University of Southern California and California State University, Los Angeles[1] and is currently playing with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.[2] He has authored several books on trumpet and has had several compositions recorded and published. In his spare moments, he manufactures trumpet mouthpieces and conducts clinics on trumpet and related subjects. Mr. Bush decided it would be appropriate to commemorate the Bicentennial year utilizing his specialty, the trumpet.
