Isabelle Dumont is a graduate of the École Normale Supérieure de Fontenay-St-Cloud and the Paris Institute of political science. She also has an in-depth study diploma in slavic studies. She assumed various positions at the french ministry of foreign affairs as of 2003, served as the second undersecretary at the French embassy in Ankara in 2011-2013, became the deputy director of Russia and eastern europe at the ministry of foreign affairs between 2013-2015, and became the french ambassador in Ukraine in September 2015. As of 2019, she is the french ambassador in Cyprus. She is fluent in English, Russian, Turkish and Spanish.
