Israel Gross Collins was an American businessman.
He was the founder of the small shipping company I.G. Collins & Son (An earlier form of the Collins Line). His father was John Collins.[1] He married Mary Ann Collins, and had a child, Edward Knight Collins, who would later become the owner of the Collins Line, and also to push it to use steamships instead of sailing ships. He died in 1831.
