Itazuke

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Itazuke is a Japanese archaeological site in Fukuoka noted for being seen as transitional between the Jomon period and the Yayoi period. It had V-shaped grooves, possibly gutters around the settlement and the presence of both Jomon pottery and early Yayoi pottery. It was found as an early example of a moated settlement and spurred more archaeological work on the Yayoi period.[1]
