Ivan Antun Nenadić

Ivan Antun Nenadić (1723 - 1784) was a Roman priest and Serbo-Croatian writer from the Bay of Kotor, and some sources consider him a Montenegrin writer (publicist and writer R. Cerović). He wrote poetry, plays and religious works.

One of his most famous works is the church drama God-loving portrayal of the Passion of Jesus. Novak and Lisac stylistically characterized it as rationalist and post-baroque. He is one of the most important writers from that period from the area of ​​today's Montenegro.

He translated the sacral drama Isacco, Figura del Redentore by Metastasio. The title of the translation was Isaac, the Occasion of Our Redemption.

He contributed to Croatian literature by introducing an octave of two verses without a term and some other elements [1].

Gracija Brajković wrote about Nenadić's work (A Small Memorial Medal of the Naval Battle of the Ivanović Brothers in 1756 and the heroic epic by Ivan Antun Nenadić, Yearbook of the Maritime Museum in Kotor (hereinafter: GPMK), vols. 33-34, Kotor 1985-1986). , pp. 115-127) [2].
