Ivi Dervishi
Introduction
Ivi Dervishi (April 7, 1992) is a famous Albanian painter.[1]
Biography
Ivi Dervishi was born in Librazhd, Albania.[1] She comes from a large family; her parents have three daughters and one son. Her passion for art was first nurtured with art courses during her eighth year in high school.
She graduated from the University of Arts, Albania, with a BA in Graphic Art and Design in July 2013.[2] The first topics of Ivi’s artworks during her Bachelor studies captured the nature of homelessness.[3] In July 2015, she received a Master’s degree in Printmaking after presenting her final Master’s diploma project, "The Secret Chamber-Pompeii." It consists of seven artworks, each sized 170x110, depicting figuration inspired by Ivi’s visit to Pompeii, Italy. The artist has used mixed media techniques, including painting, dropping & leaking, and silkscreen printing to illustrate the sinful pleasures of Pompeii.
After finishing her Master’s studies, she moved to Oslo, Norway, and lived there for a year accompanying her husband. They got married on August 7, 2015, in Cēsis, Latvia.
The artist has been exploring different themes; however, her latest pieces by Ivi Dervishi have a Greek mythology God theme, and an exhibition will be presented shortly.
