Ivo Dimchev

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Ivo Dimchev is a queer performance artist and musician from Bulgaria. He sings in Bulgarian and English.

A documentary film about Dimchev, titled In Hell With Ivo and directed by Kristina Nikolova, won the Special Jury Award at the 31st Sarajevo Film Festival.[1]

Critical Reception

The New Yorker called Dimchev the most famous singer-songwriter of Bulgaria. He has been compared by fans to Annie Lennox, Kate Bush, and Freddie Mercury. Critics have suggested that his work bears the closest resemblance to that of Anohni, the British singer formerly known as the lead vocalist of Antony and the Johnsons.[2]
