J. Brent Boyd

Brent Boyd (born January 7, 1980 in Ft.Worth, Texas) is a baseball player who was a free agent. He played baseball at the University of Alabama and was nominated to the All-SEC team 2 times and a part of the All-Time Alabama team. Boyd was nominated as the Hitter of the week 4 different times and got the University of Alabama Athlete of the Year in 2002.

Boyd played shortstop at Paschal High School in Ft.Worth and started all four years there. He was voted to the All-State team as a senior. He was then recruited by Coach Mitch Gaspard to come to the University of Alabama and started all four years while there as well.

Boyd played for Coach Jim Wells from 1998-2002, then was a graduate assistant during the 2003 season. He went on to be an assistant coach under Tommy Walker at Spanish Fort High School, then later became the head coach in the summer of 2012-2018. His team won the Alabama state championship in 5A during the 2014 season and finished 11th in the nation. The 2013 season finished runner-up to Hartselle High School and he was named the Baldwin County Coach of the Year, and in 2014 was the State Baseball Coach of the Year.

Boyd is now the Head Baseball Coach at Daphne High School in Daphne, Alabama.
